Thread: Help, all my unsold items waiting to be relisted

  1. #1

Default Help, all my unsold items waiting to be relisted

have lost their SKU/product code. I use this to add the photo number of the item. I have dozens of necklaces I am changing photos on, so need to edit them before relisting.
This means I have to sort through almost 1,000 necklaces to find the right item which has the photo number on it. This is crazy, so 2 questions -
    1) why doesn't the SKU number stay on the item when the listing has finished?
    2) why can't we just remove/add photos to a current listing?
    Not happy!

You can change the photo on a listing while it's live, just go through the edit/ close, upload a picture or insert a new URL.

Hi, unfortunately it doesn't give you the chance to change/delete the extra photos, only the main gallery one.... unless I've missed something! (happy to hear if I have).

Hi Ruth, thanks for mentioning about the SKU disappearing, I hadn't noticed; I've just been pressing re-list each time something runs out of relists, not realising that the SKU had disappeared.

The only thing I can think is that as the SKU code is unique to 1 listing, the software is programmed to delete it. Although this is far from ideal if it needs to be re-listed. I will be adding it into the text of my listing in future as a back-up.

The only way I can think of is to have a re-listing schedule, I used to allocate time each week to re-plenish the re-lists for the items that were due to finish during the coming week. Unfortunately everything went haywire when I got busy doing other things.

As you have probably read elsewhere the site is due to be up-graded. I will e-mail support asking that this be rectified.

Hi Lofty, glad it's not just me - I only noticed it today and have relisted many items previously that now have no SKU. So frustrating!

One thing I forgot to mention Ruth, is that it may be worth your while to make up a spreadsheet of your listings, including, auction & SKU's as well asdescriptions and postage details. It would prove invaluable if this happens again.

We learn from experience: I had a listing deleted earlier in the week due to it being in the wrong category. Now I have to try to remember how I described it as I don't have a copy of the text.

I have e-mailed support and will let you know the outcome.

Is the problem with manual repost or auto repost?

Can you give us the ID of an auction that is currently live but did have SKU data on a previous incarnation.

I noticed that sellers refs had dissapeared from my photo listings after some sales recently, I spent some time last week altering all the titles to include a photo ref number so I know which is which.
