Adding Search Engines To Firefox?

Hi how do you add a search engine of your choice to Firefox browser in your (drop down list)?

From the drop down box adjacent to the search input field select Manage Search Engines... and then click on the Get More Search Engines... link on the dialogue that appears.

I am not that familiar with Firefox as I do not use it as my main browser. Just to check display of HTML code.

Nor do I (or a lot of people I believe). Very hit or miss whether notification works or not. Did for me the first couple of weeks here and then suddenly stopped and have been unable to get it working again.
