Hi Ann, if you want some idea of values, check out the Manship price guides or one of the many Northern online forums. Just cast a few titles into your posts and someone (not me, I lost touch a bit) will have some ideas on values.

    Cheers Mel

Yes - Completley worthless. Best thign to do is to send the whole lot to me for safe disposal .

But on a more serious note. You may well have some real monsters in there - (Monsters of course being the gems that all the DJ's want)

As has already been stated, quite a few DJ's covered up or obscured the labels, especially on the records that were bound to fill the dance floor, leaving the crowd saying "What the F... was that???"

The old Ska DJ's did the same.

I do love the labels, but I would love to hear any records with decent, clean playable vinyl. The sound is what I'm after. I would imagine defaced records will have a much lower sale value than those that are still good looking, but when you consider that some of the rarer Northern 45's can run well into the hundreds or even thousands of pounds, then even getting half their value may be better than throwing them away.

Please keep us informed of what you have. there is a market for them.

For those who aren't fussy about filtering what I sell - Take a look at ALL my stuff above. - But for more specific listings, take a peek in the stores below.

TOY-PALLOI - For all sorts of traditional playthings!

THE PAPERBOYS PLEASURE - For Books & Magazines

    OUT ON THE FLOOR - For Records - (mainly 1950's - 60's)

    VIEWPOINT - Photographic Equipment

THE SCRAPYARD - Spare parts for old cars and bikes

I remember doing that with my early ska finds in the late sixties, when I first started DJaying. It was all for show and to annoy the punters. Totally ridiculous really, but the same thing happens today with white label pressings and silver cd's. All part of the fun of being a DJ.

As stated by Huddy & CrazyJay, please do list a few so we can get some idea what you've got.

    Cheers Mel
