Thread: Help...Google Checkout is requiring public business url

Default Help...Google Checkout is requiring public business url

I just received an email from Google:

During a review of your account, we've found that you appear to be
processing transactions through Google Checkout but haven't listed a
Public Business URL in your merchant account.

You are required to enter a Public Business URL if you use Google Checkout
or Buy Now buttons to process orders.

To avoid having your Google Checkout account suspended, please update your
Public Business URL within five business days. To add your Public Business
    website URL:

    1. Sign in to Google Checkout
    2. Click the 'Settings' tab.
    3. Enter your URL in the 'Public business website' field.
    4. Click 'Save profile.'

Once you add your Public Business URL, your account will be reviewed for
    compliance with our policies again.

I have a store here but am selling as an individual - excess household and excess craft stuff etc. - I am not a business!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

By the way, it looks like jeweleffects step by step instructions may need to be updated too.

Just put your store URL or your About Me URL in and don't worry about it.

Its better to put your About Me page and make sure you have put the google logo on that page as they might check. When I first started I put one of my stores as my Public Business URL, was told not valid as no logo on page.

Thank you Kimbo, I've added my Me page url!

Dave, I can't find where to get the google logo. I see it on your ME page but it's java, don't know how to add it since I probably need the HTML?

    Thanks for your help!

hi, you can get the logo: http://checkout.google.com/seller/ac....html?hl=en_GB

I went to My Defaults, change Description Editor Style to Plain, saved settings then I just added code to the bottom of my About Me page.

Thank you, Dave, for mentioning that the Google logo has to be on the page to which your business URL refers...I THINK...This is totally news to me. I don't use Google Checkout often but have had a few buyers pay with it successfully. Now I will be worrying about adding the Google logo to my page! I wonder if that's a longstanding Google policy but they don't enforce it consistently. When I had a problem establishing my business URL connection, I had to go through one Google helpdesk person for about a week.
