Twas Normal years ago and ifn you got the cane you didn't tell cos yer parents would add to the punishment too !

Unfortunately I was firmly esconced in a convent and there was no escape!!

Yes, punishment was normal and we learned not to run amuck. Now, not only isn't there any disipline, but the children are basically ignored. And if you tell the parents their kids are acting out you get "not my little angel". Its sad really. No mid ground where kids understand right from wrong and feel safe.
