it can take ages to understand how rare and what makes a record rare there has been many with wrong spelling on centre circle or even wrong tracks specail pressing with extra track.
one of the main thing that makes anything rare and collectable is how many was released pressed.
lot of people think wow i have loads of elvis they must be worth a fortune that is not the case the more they sold the less rare they are
even with cd's they can be rare when they came out in the 80's not a great lot was pressed so a lot of the early ones can have value

will be on the centre part of record and the date put this into google

the markings on the vinyl is to indicate release pressings

    Hi Sarah

you can order the book from smiths or a good book shop or online.. but def worth thinking about esp if you have loads to sell..

ive got 40'000 7in singles to sort out one day havent a clue when im going to start selling them also have loads 12in singles and vinyl LPs..

on the vinyls theres a number you just look at the artists name and number in the book if its over £5 it will tell you anything under that its £4.99 or less BUT if no one has it even on greedbay well you could charge more..its just time to do it all..and as you said not enough hours in the day.

good luck..if you need anymore help just hola lol

Another thing Sarah is that a vinyl can look fantastic with no scratches or owt but then try playing it and it will jump like a kangaroo lol, so thats why you should play them before listing them, it does happen had one i ordered came today looks great nothing wrong with it but will it play noooooh not even after cleaning , sucha shame cos i love the record as well.
So thats something else to be aware of lol
