    Default Browser problem help

It started a day or so ago, every time I use google or Ask, some links that I click on takes me back to my desk top and not the site, if I cut and paste the web address into the address bar it takes me to the site but some times a link on that site takes me back to my desk top, I then have to go back into whatever search engine I am using and search again. it is constant on the sites that this happens with, Any one any ideas.

    win xp pro and ie7

#2 try clearing out your cookies and internet cache

My Anti virus allows me to clear my cookies which I have done but I still have the problem. I am running a AV scan now and will run a anti spyware scan next , is anti spyware the same as AD WARE? is it the IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS command that clears my internet cache?

ipconfig/flushdns - is not your internet cache, its something else.

So what do I do to clear my internet cache?

    Thanks

When you say desktop, do you mean the internet explorer closes? or do you mean you just end up on the main google/ask page?

    Talking Strange browser problem

If after clearing the dns cache entries from XP using ipconfig /flushdns, clearing the ie cache, ie cookies and you still experince the strange behaviour, You may want to also clear the Java cache. In both IE and Firefox, you can go to tools to start up the java console. If you have the latest Java plugins loaded you can type in g and enter and then x and enter. This may help.
