    Default Uk stamp categories

there are number of sub-categories referred to on ebid as dig down levels that need to be set up in order to encourage other sellers and buyers to migrate from elsewhere,

In particular the current Elizabeth II other is too wide ranging, i would recommend

    Elizabeth II commemoratives
    Elizabeth II definitives
Elizabeth II Regionals (though this could be a category at the level above Elizabeth II)

i would also duplicate the sub-categories for Commemoratives and definitives below George VI or set them up at top level within UK stamps

you also need a category for booklets and then sub-categories for

    Folded booklets
    Prestige booklets
    Barcode/Window
    Stitched

    i also recommend setting up

    PHQ Cards
    Postage Dues
    Officials

    hope this helps

As a postcard dealer I agree with the PHQ's.... not that I disagree with the others

Default Stamps - as a buyer

I agree with both posters - with regard to stamps I also cannot see a sub-category for Errors.

    Default UK stamp categories

there is a sub category for errors under Elizabeth II which presumes that errors only arose in that period:-)

The whole stamp category structure needs to be redone in line with the larger numbers of philatelic lots being listed - Australia being split would be my first request

One category for each of the states followed by a category for each reign, with a split in QEII for the arrival of the Aus$

4 shops for Cats Protection & Prospect Hospice
    My Postcard Shop
    BK Stamps for Philatelic listings
    & Yarnalong for craft patterns
    and
Lotzabitz -anything that doesn't belong in one of the other shops.

agreed, the stamp categories need a massive overhaul but i dont want to spend ages editing my listings:-(

i think stamps is an area where they will be a big influx of sellers, i have seen quite a few from the "bay of fees" all TM's acknowledged, lol:-)

so ebid start making the relevant changes asap

Could i add G.B regionals to the list, comemorative.definitives and covers. Also mini-sheets and Italy could be changed to Italy and area to include San Marino and the Vatican.

Thanks for pointing me to the errors sub-category in EII. I totally agree with Madelaine about redoing the whole category, again strictly from a buyer's point of view I get put off by having to search through a lot of stuff I am not interested in.

The UK QEII section could also have categories for pre-decimal and decimal for both stamps, commemorative and definitive, and for FDCs

    Default Stamp categories

must admit to being disappointed that there have been no changes whatsoever to the category requests.

if anybody from ebid management is reading this then you need to get on with these changes asap as this will assist many sellers and their buyers.

collectables are what the dark side were built on and stamps is probably the largest area of collectables outside of the ubiquitous antiques.

the suggested changes to UK stamps in particular are a must as the current categories plainly dont work.
