We could make Damian a bag to put a cello in if he wants one but it would have to be in polythene not cellophane.

Oh no, another term we have to learn from the UK! In US we call cello bags "plastic storage bags" (they are zip top, or tie top).

I use lots of bags (8" x 10" or larger), too bad the supplies seem to be on the other side of the Atlantic!

Note quite, I think. Cello bags aren't used for storage, we use food bags or plastic bags or sandwich bags or... well, you get the idea. Cello bags are the flat clear bags used for display purposes for cards etc. They often have a self-sealing flap so that the item once sealed can't be opened without destroying the bag, to assure buyers the item is new and sealed.
