when you say major dealers what do you mean?
if you mean the lager comic book store then would'nt they just swamp the little guys???
i think myself we as comic book sellers should promote our stores on comic related blogs and chat rooms see if we can drive buyers here.

Hush, I agree with you about self-promoting, but I also believe rather than simply swamping the little guys one or two major dealers of especially older material would bring the buyers over from eBay (and other sites) to ebid. For example, I cannot hardly ever find the books I'm interested in on ebid: Timely golden age; Ghost Rider from the 1950's; G.I. Combat; Lone Ranger from the 40's and 50's; golden age and silver age coverless books; bronze and silver age westerns. I certainly don't want the little guys like myself to be ignored, but I also would like more comic seekers and to be able to buy here myself, especially in the auction style format which I know some don't like, but I do and would love more chances to bid on books I'm actually looking for. More buyers would (or at least should) translate into more bids and more sales for all of us.

Good luck to you Hush. I came over here from feebay as well, but my sales have never been even close to what I was doing there. Might take a loss either way, in higher fees over there, or lower sales over here.

Since October 21st I've had a total of only 4 comic book sales (all to the same buyer).

In 10 months since I started, I've sold 12 comics to 9 people... Compared to 40-60 a month at my old feepay store. I've tried to have a wide range of comics at different prices, keep my store thread at the top in "plug your auctions", and I look at what the other sellers are posting a lot so I can try to have something different to offer.... But the sales just don't seem to be there. I often wonder how much slower it is for US sellers in general because this site started and is more aimed at european buyers. I do find that when I tell people about my store site I often hear, "Never heard of ebid. That's like ebay right?"

eBid hasn't found its wings for the American market yet. You can't keep all your eggs in one basket. I'm still at feebay but I never waste money on a store there. Though I don't deal in comics there unfortunately at this time it is still the place where most of the action is....

Default New Comic Book dealer...how's business?

I just opened up a new Comic Book store here and I plan to list quality sets, statues, and Bowen busts (things I haven't found on this site yet). It seems that comic sales are slow here...I hope to help things pick up. I think blazinggrace mentioned he wished there was more Golden Age comics listed. Do you think I should bother listing any with comic sales so slow?...

    hi blazing
sounds like a good idea to list golden age comics.
still think that we should all start list on comi related blog and chat rooms to drive more traffic here they have everything set up to help with this eg custom sig's and logos.
also as there are only 23 comic book store on the UK ebid think that we should all team up to drive traffic here.

That's a good idea, Hush. I've been here for 2 weeks now and though I've had plenty of people looking at the few items I've listed, I have yet to make a sale. (Though this could be because I'm located in the States). I'll also take your advice and list more Golden Age books.
