eBay has made it clear that they want to “become Amazon”. So why would I hang around waiting for that to happen, when I can use the real Amazon now? Now eBay has doubled my shop fees and trebled my listing fees in one go, I shall be closing my eBay shop. I’ve upgraded my Amazon membership, and will be feeding more stock into my eBid stores. My ebid life membership cost me the same amount as one month of eBay featured shop. And both eBid and Amazon will only take money per item from me if I actually sell something. And when they do bill me, they don’t treat me as if I’m too stupid to notice I’m paying them! I still can’t believe that eBay sent me a notice telling me I would soon be able to list at a penny a go… and left it for me to drill down through layers of further links and pages to discover that was only if I took out a top level store at over 300 a month! Perhaps when they start treating their customers as if they have a brain, people will think about sticking around."
