    PRAYER REQUESTS/ UPDATES/ PRAISE REPORTS

    A PRAISE

Praise God for giving us his greatest gift, Jesus Christ!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NIV)

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13:34-35 NIV)

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. (John 15:12-14 NIV)

This is my command: Love each other. (John 15:17)

    2018 PRAYERS

Burgyeb - (1/12/2018) Praying for Southern California, who has experienced mudslides, following last month fires. Pray that they be strengthened and comforted by God's peace, as they face the loss of loved ones, property, and community infra-structure. (see post #1628)

Madelaine - (3/12/2018) Requesting agreement in
prayer, that one of the Christian satellite broadcasters will agree to a weekly short piece aimed at members of the armed forces in the Middle East. There are 3 possible stations. (see posts #1645 & #1646)

Burgyeb - (3/31/2018) Continues praying for Franklin Graham and family (see posts #1638 & #1639); also praying for Samaritan' Purse Ministries and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (see post # 1647).

    2018 PRAISE REPORTS

Ropegg - (1/23/2018) is thankful to God who hears our prayers, and that He is faithful to answer them according to His will, and with His great love. Also that we are so blessed, even in the midst of the storms. Amen. Praise the Lord! (see post # 1630)

Burgyeb - (11/24/2018) Thanking God for the three days of rainfall that brought the California wild fires into full containment. (See Post #1673)

    2018 UPDATES

Burgyeb- (3/9/2018) Positive action and good has been emerging from the mass shooting at the Broward County High School. Even on the day of the shooting, unusual heroic acts from teachers, a coach, and students, saved the lives of countless students and others. An overwhelming outcry from students and others, has resulted in dialogue among opposing factions of the gun control issue. Policy and legislative changes have been proposed and enacted, in the areas of school safety, mental health, age related changes for gun ownership, and specialized training for certain school staff.

Burgyeb- 11/12/2018) Continuing to praise God for his goodness and acts of kindness that are manifested during times of tragedy and disaster. Continual prayers are needed for USA (our people and leaders), and for people and leaders around the world, as they face hardship and challenges.

Burgyeb- (11/18/18; 11/24/18; 12/1/2018) At least 84 individuals died in the California wild fires. Those unaccounted for have dramatically dropped from a high of twelve hundred to thirty nine. (See Posts #'d 1672, 1673, and 1677)

A special thanks to sofiag1964 for starting this thread 10 years ago and to burgyeb for keeping it going when Sofia was no longer able to. May God bless them both for their concentrated efforts and also bless those who post on it from time to time.

I am thankful for those being able to celebrate the Lord's birth this year and I ask God to be with those who have suffered tragedies this year.

Thank you Ropegg for your gracious words of encouragement. I am also grateful for Sofia planting this thread, as it is a gift from God. I thank God for giving me the strength to contribute to this thread.

I am thankful for the eternal God, who took on flesh; coming to earth as "God with us (Immanuel), in the form of a new born babe (Jesus); who was born to a virgin (Mary) through the power of the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost. (See post# 1689)

    I enjoyed a quiet and low-keyed Christmas.

Archeologists near mount Sinai have discovered what is believed to be a missing page from the Bible. The page is currently being carbon dated in Bonn. If genuine it belongs at the beginning of the Bible and is believed to read:

"To my darling Candy. All characters and events portrayed within this book are fictitous and any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental."

Well, probably everything in the universe is alien, as we all came from somewhere else.

I enjoy this thread in a similar way as I enjoyed Sister Wendy's art observations. Learning about people's points of view in a reasoned manner …. beats some of the conversations I have with our rooster, Russel Crow.

The Many Worlds Theory helps me understand him. And I don't know where he came from, either.
