Besides raising taxes, he is also going to put such a high tax on guns and ammunition that no one will be able to afford to buy them. I live in the south where hunting is a prime sport, I fear that will cease. But more than that, for us older folks that remember the past, this sounds shockingly familiar. But I remember also, that the Lord tells us in the Bible that there is not a Power in the land that He hasn't placed there. For whatever reson, that only He knows. I fear too that Obama was elected purely out of emotion, rather than ability. But as someone said, we live in a Democracy, and the people have voted. God Bless the USA, but more than that I pray that the USA Bless God. Gramma
    Hi Gramma and others,

I tend to lean toward the side you do and I especially think emotion, rather than ability and the fact he seemed to have an enormous financial backing was a big part Obama being elected.

I too will continue to pray for the leaders of my country and that God's Will be done.

I think maybe a lot of excitement that Sofia is feeling is that our country has come to the place where a man of color can be elected to the office of president of the USA. I will admit I am elated to see that part of what has happened too.

    As Gramma said,
God Bless the USA, but more than that I pray that the USA Bless God.

    And as Sofia said,
What A Mighty God we Serve!

    Blessings,
    Peggy

I'm afraid of what is in store for America and hope and pray that I am wrong.

I keep thinking of the people following Moses in the wilderness. God kept showing them where they were wrong but they continued doing what they wanted.

Sorry if I am offending anyone but I too am passionate about my convictions.
awww you're not offending anyone; sorry, I shouldn't have said anything; it was purely because that a person of color actually made it to presidency.... as with other presidents, I will continue to pray for the leaders

we serve a mighty God and to His hands we give Him all our cares and concerns for the leaders of the world

    Sofia:
It is alright for you to express your feelings and beliefs; just as it is alright for others to do the same. That is what our great nation is all about and our young men & women are losing their lives fighting for (freedom).

I must say also, that I find it hard to understand Christians who support a candidate who supports killing (that is what abortion is) of defenseless, innocent unborn children. The world would argue that they are not really human beings yet, just "a blob of tissue". But God does not seem to share in that definition of the unborn.

God told Jeremiah that "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jeremiah 1:4-5).

John the Baptist received his name, his ministry calling, and the fact that he would be "full of the Holy Ghost" while in his mother's womb, before conception (Luke:1:11-17).

The angel Gabriel told the virgin Mary Jesus' name, his purpose, his ministry, and the nature of his kingdom before Jesus was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:26-35).

How can more credibility be given to mere people and what they define as a human being worth living, than to what God has to say about the matter. I believe that sincere Christians do vote for candidates who support abortion and other things that God does not support because of priorities on the economy, jobs, race, sex, etc. These things are important to us all, but pleasing God really should be more important. When we please Him, he is well able to meet our every need and also the desires of our hearts.

I will continue, along with everyone else, to pray for our elected leaders; who are preordained of God, whether we agree, understand or not.

Thought I would drop by for bit to wish all a wonderful and happy day full of joy and love.

We had Pastor Appreciation Day this morning where I go to church. As would be in a lot of churches that is a day where extra love seems to abound especially when the pastor has been there for 30 years. We have a very caring pastor that spends a lot of time visiting and helping out people in the community. I was so uplifted when I left from seeing how much love was shared in our small church and thought about the fact that God is Love (1 John 4:8) so it is no wonder I left so uplifted.

Blessings to all who read and/or post on this thread and thanks for the blessings I get from reading other peoples posts.

You have as much right as I to express yourself. I should have waited instead of giving a knee-jerk reaction, so forgive me for that. I voted on what was within not the color of the skin! As with every election that I have voted in, it doesn't make any difference if the one I voted for got in or not the world goes on and GOD IS STILL IN CHARGE! I'm grateful for that as I don't really know what God has planned for us.

    Hi Peggy:
It is a very special and blessed occassion when an opportunity comes to honor our pastors. They are more than worthy to receive an outpouring of love from the people they serve. I rejoice with you and congratulate your pastor on his special day! God's blessings to All!

WOW, that's all I can say as I sit here crying.I have been so down ever since my daughter-in-law died of cancer this past July, and then my dog died from poisoning within weeks of that. My Husband has bladder cancer, and I feel sorry for myself. Thank you, this is exactly what I needed. May the Lord Bless You All.
