Thread: When do you typically read a book?

The only time I read is when I'm in the bath. I normally read non-fiction or factual type books on varying topics. I sometimes have a small table beside the bath with a pad and pencil to take notes for further research if I intend to write an article for the veterans association with some info taken from the book.

Ray reads a lot more than I do, and I have seen him start and finish a book in the same day. He enjoys fiction - adventure type stories. Bernard Cornwall, and Clive Cussler are 2 of this favorite authors.

If I read it is usually in the bath, but never have been a great reader but it is usually non-fiction I read. Strange as I am currently sitting next to approx. 750 which are for sale on the "river" and another 200 which are on another site. Most have come from my OH as he used to read constantly. His day job now doesn't allow it. He used to be a static security officer on a horrible shift pattern, now his is only Mon - Fri 9 - 5 which is a lot better for family lifel.

I usually take to my book when my girls are getting ready for bed - around 8pm and carry on until 9 or 10 - then bedtime. After all there is absolutely nothing to watch on TV - hubby has usually retired to his PC then also!

I read at any time, bedtime, sitting outside in the sun, in the car while waiting for my son to come out of school, or just when I fancy a nice indulgence in a good book

I also have a list of books that I would like to read before I die. I might just get through it........

As I don't have a TV to distract me, I read whenever I get the opportunity but always find time for the latest Terry Pratchett - he's guaranteed to put me in a good mood. However I won't read in the bath - the only time I tried it I put wet fingerprints on a favourite G. Heyer (one of her murder mystery ones). Working my way through the life of Ella Fitzgerald at the moment in between catching up on a few Edgar Wallace novels.

One chapter, maybe two, with my morning coffee. Another chapter each hour when I take breaks. Two or three chapters each with lunch and dinner. One of the joys of living alone is that I can read while I eat!

I seem to be doing more and more late night reading. Get too engrossed to piecemeal an hour here and there like Tia (though envy her for having so much time to herself!), and increasing am looking alot like leaping cat - list of books is growing while my life span is getting shorter!

I read everywhere, on the bus, in the bath in the garden, even in front of the PC when I am typing the synopsis of a book I get sidetracked and start reading it again.
