Thread: What do you collect?

I have collected all sorts of things over the years including stamps, art nouveau glass & ceramics and toast racks amongst other things. Once I have had them for a while and have had enjoyment from them I usually sell them on and go on to collecting something else. At the moment I am collecting ceramic figures with the ZAPHIR mark on the base. These were made by Jose Puche who was a core sculpture for Lladro before starting up on his own. These items were discontinued in the early eighties when it is believed that Lladro took over his company and destroyed a lot of the moulds although some were still being made under the NAO label until a few years ago. Some of the more common pieces are quite easy to find but some of the rarer ones I have had to buy from as far afield as New Zealand, Australia and America. If anyone has any information on ZAPHIR including pieces, catalogs, etc I would be very interested.

Hi, I collect green depression glass and coca cola items. My glass collection was getting out of hand, so made a deal with hubby: if I buy a new piece, an older piece in my collection has to go. Was a great deal for me since I was beginning to tire of cleaning all that glass. So now my collection is mainly made of up of candy jars and a few pieces I inherited from my Mom.

My coca cola collection is very limited. I inherited it from my Dad. Mostly old coke trays, miniature bottles, toys, and pics from the early 50s of Dad and his buddies at the Coke plant [he was a sign painter for them]. Those I will never part with.

Coins. Books. A style (not pattern) of dinnerware. Owls. Books. Dragons. Dark blue bottles. Books.

I never intended to collect books, there are just so many I can't seem to part with.

Just a few of my friends

I try very hard not to buy any more as husband is threating to leave. But then I make another and I can't part with it..... you get the picture. As lejoueurdepipeau said fabric, I suppose I collect that as well, and wool, but there are always the good intentions of using fabric and wool.........what would we do without good intentions
