    Default Digital photo question??

Anyone know if a filter is available to perhaps lose the flash
image on reflective items? I have a truck load of old LP's and
with their shiney(sp?) covers it's not easy to get a good photo
without that flash shine. Too bad I don't have editing software
to correct this problem. If I were a buyer it's not something
that would turn me away but just out of curiousity I got to
wondering if there is some trick to accomplishing the "No Flash"
    look. Thanks in advance.

you might find that a bit of grease proof paper or tissue paper infront of the flash might work

Maybe turn the album at a slight angle so it's not getting hit broadside with the flash.

And in the spirit of the famous teakettle picture on eBoy, be sure you wear clothes when you're shooting supershiny objects like chrome toasters, mirrors, etc.

I don't know about that particular shot but I'll never forget the table
and chairs that were photographed for sale a few years ago on
Greedbay, where the photographer was buck naked while
shooting the picture and his full image was reflected on a
mirrored wall...who knows, maybe he thought it would help the
sale! LOL Anyway, thank you for responding. This is what is so
nice about these forums, no matter what the question is, there
is always some nice person to answer.

Just use natural light, a flash is always going to bounce of a reflective surface and no filter will solve that, you can use a polarizing filter to cut down on reflections.

I have a piece of fine muslin material that I made up with some shirring elastic to pop over when I am doing close up wildlife/ flower photography to filter the flash.
I tend to use natural light for my sales photos as the colours come out very naturally and it does solve the problem of bounce back

I never use the flash unless its to help illuminate a back lit subject.
Natural light is far better, but avoid bright sunlight as this will give you harsh shadows.
Use a tripod if necessary to compensate for the slower shutter speed and take several photos of the item at different angles
