Default looking to sell signed comics!!!

    Hi

I am new to this site, having come over from the darkside!! . Everyone here seems a friendly bunch with alot of advice to give.

I would like from peoples experiences on eBid, if signed comics sell well here or are some of them just over priced. I have a number of signed comics to sell with COAs would like to know if eBid is the best place to sell these comics

    thanks

    Hi and welcome!
I think it really depends on the comics you have - well worth a try with some to see what sort of response you get. There are certainly a lot of comic collectors, and signed ones should fetch a premium here.

    Hello excido,
as someone who has sold comics on both sites I think it depends on the following:
    A) what signed issues you are selling
    B) Getting the price right
Look forward to having a look when you list them though in case there is something I want.

    My 5 Pence Worth :-)

There are LOADS of signed comics around nowadays, the amount of comic marts etc are really making it easy for anyone to get a comic Signed. DF inflate the market with "Ltd Edition" Signed alternative covers that have pretty low resale value.
The "Hot" Comic / artist thing nowadays is so short that if you've been collecting for a while and the books are run of the mill (Not Key Issues) or the signee is out of fashion then you aint gonna get a lot for them.
If your going to sell signed comics then specialize, concentrate on people who don't do comic marts or rarely sign or are dead. Make sure you have a COA or some kind of proof that this comic was actually signed by the person stated (I bought a load off feebay, a comic dealer told me of a bad experience he had with the seller, so I contacted the artist who had supposadly signed this and he told me although he was booked at the mart these where supposadly signed at, he never made it as he was ill). Always look for the double tie in, Signed star wars comics appeal to both sets of geeks (As a self confessed geek I am happy using this term) Comic Geeks and Star Wars Geeks. (With the added bonus that it may interest the generalised film geek).

Just my thoughts, I may be right, I may be wrong.

    Carry on :-)

    Hi

Thanks for your feedback!!! Nice store officeboy, I may be interested in purchasing a few comics from there. What do you think to Stan Lee signed comics? Is there a market specifically for his signature? Alot of my comics were purchased from Dynamic Forces, you really think they have low resale value?

Thanks for the compliment on the store, I work out of country but will be back on the 7th Aug, so by the 31st should have it stocked with around 3 - 4000 items. (NOT A PLUG)
Stan Lee always sells if certified, same as Bob Kane, Dynamic forces is a great way to collect signed comics but often they are not the most well known names or comics and buyers just know that 6 months down the line they fall in value big time. Trouble is us die hard comic geeks want NM comics, a signed comic isn't NM, I would much rather buy a NM copy of Batman than I would a signed copy. I either stay away from signed, do em cheap or look for the Hard to find rare stuff, remarked, re-sketched, Indy titles, popular artist but low low print runs. It is supply and demand, if your the only bloke in town with a signed Lenore with a sketch on the cover you can ask what you wish, 2000 dealers with a signed Iron Man by DF are competing and can only price at what the market will stand. My advise is if your not desperate for the cash, list em at what you want for them, it doesn't cost you anything on here, then someone may be browsing your store, see three or four cheaper items and will splash out on that extra book.
