Plus size is discrimination. Who is to say what is what.
If I am looking for clothes I would want to see all items in a specific size and would not bother going from tops to trousers if that was how they were sorted.

Ah, i believe in some cultures, of which I'm not a member. people feel the need to change into fresh, clean, dignified type clothes for eating "dinner". "Dinner" is a term used for the late-day meal in some traditions. Not supper, which is understood to be late at night, but that meal eaten around sundown, possibly.

As I understand dinnerwear, it's clothes and an attitude that you will be on your most polite behavior and giving an earnest attempt to impress your companions with your care in grooming.

So not a large white cloth draped around your front to catch the debris, then? P'raps that's why I'm never invited to the Palace...

Perhaps. Of course a Saturday Night Live skit from many years ago got it right. Trough House Restaurants are kind enough to hose you down as you exit.

If it's described as formal wear then it's down to the buyer to decide if it's suitable to be worn to dinner or to tea whether that be, "At the Palace", "In Boston", or even at "The Madhatter's".

    Got a spare cloth?.

Its costing me a packet in stain removers.

The thing I dont like about the womens section is that some clothing categories have been seperated by shoes etc

Here, use this bed sheet... I've found it's the only thing that's really up to the job.
