We are just starting on eBid. When we get our three current stores up and running (lots of stuff to put in yet), I'm going to add a coin store. We have lots of old coins, from inherited collections and accumulations, about half and half circulated and uncirculated. None of them, of course, are slabbed. I notice in some of your stores you are selling certified coins for only a bit over $5.00. A couple of years ago I checked and found it cost $5.00 to have a coin certified and slabbed. Is there a lower-cost alternative? How do you manage to make a profit?

Hi Tias Treasures& Welcome To Ebid:
Profit margins on coins are very narrow; unless you are fortunate enough to obtain estates or large lots at deeply discounted prices. I have a sense that there are coin stores on Ebid that seem willing to temporarily sustain profit losses in order to increase their sales in the short run. This may work for some; certainly not for all. I do not really try to depress my prices too low because I can not justify the loss. I suspect each seller can decide what they are able to tolerate in terms of profit margins.

Hi Folks, I'm another little coin dealer from New Zealand, like some of you have just found eBid and enjoying listing items - very easy so far. Have just this hour had another 2 sales - make three now. Great hopes for the future!

My stamp and coin store is here
    http://nz.nine.ebid.net/perl/main.cg...amps-and-Coins

And I also have another store with specific New Zealand items. Once I get those up and running I'll more than likely open a third store for whatever is left.

Good Luck everyone! Cheers from New Zealand, the little pearl at the bottom of the South Pacific.

Hi all--Mostly a buyer of U.S. coins, but hope to move out some of my extra junque.(Thanks lm5403!) Probably not active enough to open a store though.
I'm sure things will pick up here as more and more people discover eBid. Hang in there!
Hey--who said we coin collectors were not a very social group? 48 replies to the OP ain't too bad huh?
    Later folks--Poppa501

    Hi All:
I agree Poppa501, 48/49 post is pretty good for a group of folk thought to be unsocial. :-) Things are picking up in other ways for coin sellers & collectors on Ebid, like our census, sales, available collectibles, and so forth. Things can only get better!

    Hello All!
Haven't posted here in a while. Would like to invite any new people to visit/join the social group "Coin/Banknote Sellers & Collectors On The Ebid Zone". Have been having some interesting chats about coin grading and new designs. Also, if you haven't been by in a while, come on by.
