Question Question for the Booksellers on eBid

Do most of the booksellers here look at the wanteds? Do you (sellers) think it's worthwhile to put a want list for books on? There always seem to be quite a few wanteds under books, but am curious to know if the sellers check that, or just leave it to the buyers to search their auctions?

I look at the wanteds and I certainly think it can't hurt to list it there. But keep searching as well

As a seller I rarely look at the wanteds, because as a buyer I'd never use that feature myself.

I am a book seller, mostly vintage. I do look at the wanteds about once a week since I know that postings on there are for more unusual books. If I ever get all of my books listed I might not look so much. I might just have what someone is wanting and can get it listed right away and contact them.

I rarely look at Wanteds. I always presume that if someone is really hunting for a particular book they'll have done a Google search - and hopefully our copy of a book would show up there!

And normally that does work, or a search of various book seller sites, but I often look for signed first editions, or hunt by author, or have several titles I'm looking for.... so the large searches don't really work. Even the auction site searches can be tedious as not all sellers can put all that info. in a title and so many descriptions vary - autographed copy; signed edition, etc. That's why I occasionally favour wanteds. Thought that might be of interest to some sellers too.

Plus I get to scan all the auctions of the sellers who answered

Hi klj, I tend to check the wanted ads' regularly on all the sites I visit, you really never know what folk are looking for and it sometimes may result in a sale, fingers crossed.
