Why not try my autobiographical book 'Three years in starch' ? It tells about nurse training in a large UK hospital 1959 - '62. And its sequel 'Following the drum'.

Sorry. I'm still trying to get my head around ebid as I've been away for a few years. Keep watching. I'll crack it in a few hours. If not , all my books are available on Amazon. Barnes and Noble, W H Smith, Kobo and several other places. ebook or print.

They thought they were friends for life - until one summer, everything changed . . .

Linston End on the Norfolk Broads has been the holiday home to three families for many years. The memories of their time there are ingrained in their hearts: picnics on the river, gin and tonics in the pavilion at dusk, hours spent seeking out the local swallowtail butterflies. Everyone together.

But widower Alastair has been faced with a few of life's surprises recently. Now, he is about to shock his circle of friends with the decisions he has made - and the changes it will mean for them all. For some, it feels like the end. For others, it might just be the beginning . . .

I have read all of Erica James' books - this must be a new one - will look out for it.

The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley is well worth reading along with the follow-up books on each of the sisters. Extremely well researched and great reads.

    Same here

I'm reading JoJo Moyes, Still Me, at the mo. The main character is Louisa Clark who featured in the first book of hers I read, Me Before You, and in the second, After You.

    Very enjoyable reads.

"Set in Cairo in 1919-1953, this book paints a portrait of Egypt in the days when it was a British Protectorate—a colony in all but name. The author was a chief foreign correspondent for the Daily Mail and lived in Cairo, where he met Nasser, Sadat, and King Farouk, all of whom appear in the book. However, the lives of Egyptians and their struggle for independence take a backseat to the glittering excesses of the British elite."
