Just finished Death of a glutton by M.C. Beaton. This is the first Hamish Macbeth mystery I have read and enjoyed it as much as the Agatha Raisin books. I have a few more in the series, so I can while away the hours....

Bought a few books in local charity shops recently, and this is the only one that has held my attention:

'The American Boy' by Andrew Taylor.

The 'boy' in question is Edgar Allan Poe who was at school in Stoke Newington in 1819 whilst his family lived in London for a short time.

Currently reading The Fall Of The West by Adrian Goldsworthy, about the collapse of the Roman Empire
Just finished Sanctus by Simon Toyne, no immediate verdict, i need to mull it over for a while.
Island of Bones by Imogen Robertson was excellent, she is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.
Trying to decide wether to start Prophecy by SJ Parris or Hanging Hill by Mo Hayder next.
    Decisions, decisions!

Nice to see this thread resurrected. Well done whoever dredged it up!

At the moment I'm re-reading a Heyer whodunnit, Detection Unlimited, and a Grisham, The Appeal. Nice bit of escapism. I've recently started doing a day a week in the local bookshop (bliss!) and I get a discount off all books, plus any in the "pound boxes" are free... swoon!
