LOL! Think you're safe there Meebo. Tess Gerritsen is a brilliant writer and she comes up with some cracking storylines. But she doesn't have that deep, dark writing psyche that Karen Rose and Karin Slaughter do. Val McDiarmid is another one in their class. If you've ever watched "Wire in the Blood" you'll know what I mean. She wrote the stories! Some of them really gave me the heebies and that was AFTER reading the books, so I knew what to expect!

    SUESJOOLS & LESLIESDAUGHTER:

Sue - how the heck can you have SIX books on the go at the same time? Gill too - she's got two going! My husband usually reads two at the same time too but it's something I CANNOT do. I HAVE to finish one book before I start on another. It's not a concentration thing - there's a surprise!! - it's just ME! If I treated books the way I do my housework, I'd NEVER finish a book. It takes me ages to do my housework cos I don't concentrate on one room at a time. Not Nancy! I go off at a tangent, trying to do multiple rooms at the same time and end up taking HOURS!

Ooh... I'd forgotten this thread, thanks for reviving it. I'm reading an old Sue Grafton, D is for Deadbeat. Fun, easy reading private eye stuff.

Finally finished the Short History, now on to another eBid purchase, Romance of Chivalry by Moncrieff, (think that's spelled correctly). Also reading Henrietta Maria by Elizabeth Hamilton, an excellent bio of Charles I's queen.

    Did I mention I love European/British history?

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I am almost finished reading an omnibus edition of a series of books I read when I was little. I probably go back to some nice little murder story to while away the hours
