I did enjoy the Reg Hill, and I still have a few to go through. I have been buying so many books lately that I could be reading all through 2010 without adding to them, but that is wishful thinking on OH's part
The synopsis on Amazon does seem familiar, but then it's a pretty standard plot that's being described there - not much detail. I'll rummage through my shelves and check for a copy. Will keep you posted!

Not buy any books for a year!? Yeah, right. *snort, guffaw*

I've read one Reg Hill I think it's in my "To List Mountain", I did quite enjoy it.
I've not been reading too much lately, too many headaches, I finally finished the Candace Robb last night, still undecided about it, I've put the second one in the cab,to start reading, but to be honest I might not bother for now.
I got Last of the Wilds, book 2 in Age of the Five in a Trudi Canavan, trilogy a few days ago, so now I have all three I might start that instead, can't remember offhand, if I read the first one already, or not.
I think I've also got a complete Robin Hobb trilogy to start as well, I've only read one she wrote as herself, Megan Lindholm, before.

I read Mary, Bloody Mary by Carolyn Meyer over Christmas which is written in the first person and takes you through Mary's childhood years. Must say I loved it and would certainly buy Ms Meyer's books again.

Now I've nearly finished Road to Nab End by William Woodruff. That's just compulsive reading and I don't think I could set it aside if I wanted to. His early years in Blackburn really put life today into perspective.

I do though, tend to migrate toward the non-fiction given half a chance so purposefully try and push myself back towards the fiction on a regular basis!

Well I went with the Candace Robb, because I forgot to take anything else out with me, the second ones a bit better, but it still seems slow.
Because of the way I read, sometimes only a line or two, sometimes chapter after chapter, (it all depends how busy we are at work), fiction is much easier to cope with, so are paperbacks, although I prefer hardbacks, large ones just take up too much room in the car.
It's good to see a greater number of sci-fi & fantasy books listed here, the first time I searched for John Wyndam there was only one.
Talking of him, did any of you see the TV adaptation of Day of the Triffids on BBC1? I have mixed feelings, I enjoyed it as something to watch, but not so much as what it was supposed to be, although it's a while since I last read the book, so it's hard to remember exactly how close it came. I had to force myself not to start reading it between the two episodes, as that would really have spoilt it.

Aristotle, a contemporary of Plato's, says when music changes there should be laws to govern the nature and the character of that music.

Finished the Lady Chapel, definitely much better than the first Owen Archer Mystery.
As I've got the third one, The Nun's Tale, I'll start it tonight, for me they're readers not keepers, but I rarely keep any non sci-fi or fantasy anymore.
