I don't know 'Miss Silver', will have to look (links most welcome) I finished Georgette Heyer's No Wind of Blame. It's the first non historical book of hers I have read and thoroughly enjoyed it. My sister has given me a book to read loosely translated Holidays with Dad. It's very funny

Ooh, yes - Heyer's whodunnits are excellent. There just aren't enough of them. I tend to keep my Wentworths (Silver) and Heyers, but if I see any spares about I'll let you know.

I don't like historical writing of the sort Heyer usually does, but of the genre I bet hers are well done, if her mysteries are anything to go by.

Currently re-reading Summer Moonshine, by PG Wodehouse. It was just nearest to hand, and I fancied a bit of silliness.

Have you read Woodhouse's 'Do butler's burgle banks'? I liked that very much

I've seen Wentworths (Silver) and Heyers listed here (not by me), for anyone looking.

All this talk about Wentworth, I had to put down the Wodehouse and pick up The Clock Strikes 12.

The conversation did remind me of another top favourite classic whodunnit author that doesn't get mentioned here much: Margery Allingham. She wrote the Campion novels. I like those a lot too.

And I assume we're all already Lord Peter Whimsy fans?!

I know my mother in law has some of those. When I get a chance to rummage there I am bound to find a treasure or two
