Just finished reading a fun mystery book called Paws for Alarm by Marian Babson. An American family house swaps with an English family (the author is an ex-Pat living in England now) - the observations of someone new to England are interesting - and the mystery is lighthearted (even though someone is trying to kill the husband).

Not reading, but listening. The Stephanie Plum books have been recommended in here, and a chum has lent me the first three books on tape. Love 'em! I'm on book three having ploughed through one and two in double-quick time. I had to do a bit of mental adjustment at first, since they're read by Lorelei King, who also does the Sue Grafton books. Next time I listen to a Grafton I'm going to be waiting for the jokes!

You've got to love Gramma Mazur, right?

Aren't those fun books? And yes, love Gramma Mazur. And she just gets more so in the following books. I've read about 16 of Evanovich's books (a couple aren't Stephanie Plum books) and not one has been a disappointment.

Why?......just read a write up of it.....I haven't been into fiction in a very long time....

Have to say though that i find very modern vampire stories (written in modern times) do more for me than the silly horror movie vampires I remember from when I was a child.

Loved 'Interview With A Vampire'...that might have been the Tom Cruise effect though

Ahhh... Moonie.... this Vampire makes Cruise look like a pansy.
Powers takes you to the origin of the 'myth'. It's a lot older than Dracula. But not as old as Fossy...

I know what you are saying

My son is the vampire 'expert' in my family.

He uses a lot of his research in writing for on-line vampire role games...we have a right laugh reading some of the posts from people who are totally clueless when it comes to vampire history.

Moonie, then your son must have read: The Stress....?

Just read Doctor Who - Wishing Well. A fun romp written with the Doctor & Martha characters as portrayed on screen... I kept forgetting that and not reading the voices accurately in my head, then when I remembered and added that manic Tennant voice it read completely differently. Good fun either way, if you like the Doctor.
