I have just finished Doomed to die by dorothy simpson. The first Inspector Thanet book I have read. I liked it so much that I bought spyder's offerings of 3 Omnibus books. But the next in line is Joanne Fluke's Blueberry Muffin Murder. (Ther is a queue to read this)
Douglas Adams - Resteraunt At the End Of The Universe.
Marvin the Paranoid Android made me do a LOL on the bus today. I won't write out the whole segment, but if you have a copy, read through his conversation with the receptionist on pages 33-34. (of course, if you have a different edition, then perhaps the pagination is different - It's toward the end of chapter 6. - Then again, if you don't have the book at all, this won't mean anything anyway.)
For those who aren't fussy about filtering what I sell - Take a look at ALL my stuff above. - But for more specific listings, take a peek in the stores below.

Starter For Ten, by David Nicholls, for the second time. And I've just finished his other book, The Understudy. Can recommend them both if you haven't read them yet.

I'm now halfway through Distant Voices by Barbara Erskine, it's short stories, but also I'm reading a spiritual book by Deepak Chopra called Path to Love, which is very interesting
I finished the Angie Debo book on the History of the Native Americans about a week ago - a very good book which gives as it says in the title - a history of the Native Americans. It tells of white mans first landing on the Americas, and how they tried to civilise the natives by means of religion and slavery, through the tumulant civil war and how both sides played the different tribes against each other for their own gain. It finishes in recent years, with government payouts for land that was taken without consent and proper 'treaties'.
I am now about 1/4 way through The Unknown Soldier by Neil Hanson. This follows 3 soldiers of different nationalities that went to war 1914, and didn't come home. Using letters of the soliders themselves, their comrades and regimental journals, it begins with the early days of ww1. From the title of the book, we know how it ends.
Just finished reading The Marriage Hearse by Kate Ellis and have moved on to The Shining Skull also by Kate Ellis.
I rather like her murder mysteries - a bit gentler than my usual diet of thrillers.
