And thanks to Meebo I expect to be starting my umpteenth Cat Who book later this week. In the meantime I'm rereading a Pratchett children's book, Only You Can Save Mankind. Good fun.

    Klj sorry i didn't reply.

I helped with the critique of it while he was writing it so I got a free copy

It was self published as early xmas presents for people such a funny book but a daft type of humour made me laugh out loud a lot bit of swearing in it though and bit of blokey humour if you've heard of the "would you rather" game you may know what i mean.

He hasn't had the guts to send it to a publisher yet which is what i meant by re released

It's part of a trilogy which is forgot to mention so now i am waiting patiently for him to write the other one which he currently doing apparently

sorry i've waffled on a lot just feel really proud of him being my friend

Hi Annah, and welcome aboard. I certainly hope you find your way back... should have left a breadcrumb trail. Just a quick word of advice, you're not allowed to publish your email address on the forums, the management don't like it. If you find your way back, if you look at your own message you should see a little link that says "edit" - click on that and you'll be able to change it. Good luck!

I've just finished a book detailing the battles of WW1 and am finally starting a book that I bought ages ago from Bykimbo 'Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee'.

I won't go into details but surfice to say, the lessons that civilised white man should have learnt on the American Continent were not and continued onto the African, Indian and other continents. To rant a little more (I know - wrong thread) its no small wonder that some species of animals are extinct or on the verge of extinction when white men have done the same with civilisations.

Thank you. I hope you can talk him into publishing! They sound like great fun.

Just started reading 'The Pickwick Papers' by Charles Dickens!

Only read excerpts before, and came across the full version the other day.

Never read that one, let me know what you think. I enjoy Dickens from time to time... but those times do tend to be quite a long way apart!

Just started Ruined City, by Nevil Shute. I've enjoyed everything else of his that I've read, so should be good.

I just finished Long Spoon Lane by Anne Perry. Hadn't read any of hers before, but I enjoyed this and will be looking for more. This is a crime story set in Victorian London

*pricks up ears* - ooh... Meebo's found a new whodunnit writer she likes. Hmmm... I think I picked up a Perry and put it down again, but can't remember why I thought I wouldn't like it. Any ideas?
