    Forgot to mention........................

As for the listing duration options - I like them all, they have their time, place and usability depending on what you sell.

I have previously only used fixed price listing services for books, and would be lost without the Run Until Sold feature. I would probably not be here if eBid did not offer it.

Totally agree, Hartmann219. I need the Run til Sold feature...without it I'm sunk as I don't do that many auctions, and would have to move.........!!!!!!

I think 'Run until Sold' is particularly useful for books.
A lot of people 'browse' books with no idea about buying any particular book.
A bit like going to the library, really!
    Please keep it!

    Definitely keep them.

eBid currently has low buyer volumes compared to eBay. It is bound to take a lot longer to sell things here. If a listing is there for a prolonged period, it is more likely that a search engine will pick up the item, attracting buyers onto the site.

If eBid takes off in a big way, then maybe at that point there could be a time-out fixed, before then it would be commercial suicide to fiddle with them (IMHO)

It will definitely take a long time to sell things if you hide them. Run until sold items can only be found if the person searches for your item.

Default Please keep "run until sold"

I feel this is an extremely useful format for the more specialist type of item, which may take some time to sell.

For goodness sake don't chuck it away!

It would be really terrible if this site ended up like feebay

    Smile Run until sold option

Surely this is a matter of choice.
As new ebidders we have a vast inventory to upload and the run until sold option allows us to post up the stock without worrying about end dates while this work is being done.
On eb*y we have to relist around 150 ended auctions each day and this as you can imagine takes a lot of time. Yes, you can auto relist items but this does not allow you to revise the listing and control the stock.
With this option it allows us to control the auctions and give a better service to our customers
