Exclamation Get rid of the 'Run Until Sold' option

    eBid & it's members

This only clogs up space and is a waste of time.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

I like the fact that we have CHOICE on eBid,
if you don't like RunTilSold, don't buy anything listed that way, & when you upgrade so that you can sell, if you don't like the option don't use it on your listings.

BTW this is the new category forum, not website suggestions.

I think it should stay. If people like being told what to do, then maybe feeby is the place to be.

Run till sold is just a choice and not a must, so therefore choices should stay

Do you not think it might be wise to take time to settle in and get to know how ebid works before requesting sweeping changes?

I voted no by the way. I like the range of choices ebid provides.

I was going to vote no,
but I don't like or agree with the addendum

Well, in about half hour the George A. Romero's Day of the dead is on BBC2, and if Bub were here I would feed this thread to him, creating a little more space.

Although I like the idea of being able to choose whichever format you wish, I voted to get rid of this format.

I think every listing should have a fixed life-span, with the option to re-list. This would prevent the problem that we currently have with people trying to buy on abandoned listings. At least we would know that the item and seller are still "live".

But this would then remove the level playing field

Seller status incurs a fee each time you list as platinum. So run till sold is better for them.

I do agree that there is a problem with "abandoned listings" though, but I feel that the way to solve this would be for all sellers (normal or +) should have to sign in at least once a month or every six weeks.

If someone is really interested in selling on Ebid they will be checking their items more than once a day. That way they will know if items are being bid on. I know that I check up on Ebid several times a day and if I'm posting items it a lot more often. The run till sold just means that the first bidder opens the auction that's all. Just like a real live auction. I know because I did real live auctions over the last 3 years.

Run till sold is a good idea for higher dollar items that take a while to sell IMHO. Everything else is $9.95 go nuts bidding
