Thread: How do you normally pack postcards?

  1. #1

Default How do you normally pack postcards?

I get quite a few postcards in the books that arrive and I was thinking of selling them on here, but then got to thinking about posting them.

Do you use a board backed envelope, is that strong enough not to bend in the post? I've always thought them a bit flimsy (got a few bent photos in the post).

I was thinking of using the covers of reader's digest condensed books (nothing will bend that in the post, but it's likely to knock the postage up into the next band because they're rather solid. Would buyers pay the extra or would they feel ripped off?

Or would it be better to collect them all up and sell as one lot, and forget about bending-in-the-post problems?

    1. Place postcard in an envelope

    2. Sandwich the above between two pieces of cardboard which should be lightly taped together

    3. Place in a freezer bag

    4. Place in a Jiffy.

This will come in at 'Large Letter' rate, no problems.

    Thanks, that sounds reasonable.

Sold a few last year and used board backed envelope with a stiffner card and had no problems.

Sounds like a plan - might try that next time.
