In another article there's a suggestion that greedbay are to introduce a trial (which will if previous ones are anything to go by will become permanent) of compulsory escrow payments.
    Desperation setting in ?.

Depends how you look at it.

As a buyer I approve of the extra security against bad sellers
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

I think you have highlighted a very important point Tony. With all the various problems besetting sellers on all the sites, the buyers are blissfully unaware of the sellers problems, unless of course they are a seller also. This will always be the case and there is no reason for it to be otherwise.
The buyers are never aware of the hoops and hurdles the sellers are going through. It`s only when their favourite seller suddenly disappears that they spare a moment to consider the situation, and they still do not have all the facts.

This is really the subject for a new thread.

But ebay make a big think of their buyer protection.
I think the Ranch has copied it.
    Ebid has not
Is it costing us sales on here by not having one ?

This is the whole problem with auction sites.
They cannot guarantee that buyers and sellers will behave in a certain manner.

I doubt if safety and security have much to do with it,ebay just like to control every little aspect of any transaction and make as much out of it as possible. What happened to "we believe everyone is good" anyway ?
