Thread: Princess Margaret Collection

  1. #1

    Question Princess Margaret Collection

I have unearthed a collection relating to Princess Margaret's visit to Grenada, West Indies in 1955. The collection consists of around 25 real photographs of the Princess, a scrapbook packed with cuttings from a local newspaper and a couple of invitation cards to attend functions and meet the Princess at the Governor's house.

I would like to put this collection up for sale but cannot decide whether to sell it as a complete collection or break it up and sell the items individually. My gut feeling is that it might fetch more sold individually. On the other hand I feel that it would be a shame to break this collection up.

I would very much appreciate the views from both sellers and collectors on this.

one thought on this is have you thought of offering it to the royal archivies, ofton with the same princible if it relates to a particular area and its posible they've never been seen then ofton in this country local archieves will buy a collection of photos though not ususally for a high price

hope you can find a good home for the collection there are certainly collectors for royalty bits, but as you said it would be a pity to split, Have certainly found that some collections can be sold to the relivant department. am afraid paper collections are very intersting to me, if can help again do ask.
