    Default Goebel - Help Please

I have recently acquired a Guardsman figurine, which is stamped Goebel 1971. I can't find any reference on the www and what I have found only refers to figures of children, there is nothing with reference to Military figures.

I've attached 3 photographs so you can have a look.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Hi clara, your Guardsman figurine is one in a Series from Goebel,
I don’t think you will find any books to help you,
I have been looking for about 4 years, and still not found one
The subject matter is not a popular one,
As must collectors want the children, and cant see the beauty in these models,
AS for price, you would be hard pushed to get £10.00 on an auction site,
May get better from a collectors club member, but that means joining the club,
I recommend ,,IF you want to sell, put it into your auction ,

1, start at £10.00, no reserve, no buy now,

    2, a buy now £10.00 no auction,

or ask me to buy it, but you would get less for it,

    Hi QCPOTS

Many thanks for the information, I now understand why I couldn't find any reference to it. Well it doesn't look as though I'll be retiring this month :-)

I think probably the best thing to do will be to hold on to it and hope that sometime in the future they become desirable. I can live in hope!!!

    Thanks again.

I don't even have to think about that one :-) It would have to be Hope, Hope Valley, a place where I spent most of my childhood.

Unfortunately the Peak District has lots of quarries but you learn to live with them. The rest of the scenery makes up for it ;-)

While I have your attention you may be able to help me with something. Last night I had a problem reducing the quantity in one of my auctions. The quantity was 2 and I wanted to reduce it to 1 but it wouldn't save. In the end I closed the auction and listed similar. Do you know if this a system glitch or something I was doing wrong? I was going to post this to one of the threads today but at the moment I'm in the middle of closing down one of my eBay shops so haven't had time.

    Many thanks.

    Clara

I've just had a look at your Topographical postcards. When I have more time I will have to pay you a visit.

My maternal and paternal Grandmothers collected postcards, which eventually ended up as one collection. As the collection has been handed down, family members have added to it so they date from 1902 up to the present day. My contribution to the collection is old Sheffield and Derbyshire as well as a few new. The last count I did was a couple of years ago and there was just over 4,500.

I see you have a few that I already have so will have to have a look and see what else you've got.

I had the same 'problem' a while ago and if I remember rightly...you can't change the quantity as you would be changing the auction type from a dutch auction to a normal auction.
You have to do just what you already did. Close the listing and relist as a normal auction.
I am sure someone else will be along soon to explain it better.
I am not one of the techies on here...lol

Ah, I never thought about that, I suppose it makes sense. Thank you for the info :-)
