Today is officially summer - I'm wearing sandals for the first time this year

Sadly it doesn't feel much like Summer in Thanet. There's a stiff NE breeze blowing in off the North Sea. There's bright sunshine but the temperature is about 12c, it feels more like Autumn.

No sandals for me, wondering where this "African Plume" that they keep promising has got to.

Just had our first bbq of the season with a very select number of guests and it was jolly nice, chance to get to know our new neighbour better.

I have been wearing shorts and sandals for ages now - guess I look rather daft wearing two cardigans and thick socks - but hey-ho - who cares!
We just cannot get rid of this awful NE wind off the North sea, in the sunshine it's lovely if you shelter from the wind.

Mandart, we have been wanting to have a barby for quite some time now - I even got the burgers, sausages etc. in, which have ended up in the freezer. Glad you had a nice time and got to know your new neighbour.

Elench, it's strange how the wind/breeze dies down later in the day. Ole JR and I love to sit outside in our little shelter which is a little suntrap as it faces West. Glad you managed to don your shorts and t-shirt and hope you enjoyed your vino!

Yesterday was my 1st day of wearing sandels, but they started to hurt, think have been spoilt wearing ankle boots, most of the year. have just put back on as its chilly again Somerset, & am going to the local shop[ in a minuet & don't want the blue toes, but at least the towels are drying well.

Yesterday did manage to read in the garden for a while, out of the wind, also did put some plants in ,

Started overcast here this morning but the sun's creeping out now - wind's pretty ferocious mind, no sitting in the garden today for me.

I'm a bit nearer to moving back home thanks to Anchor Housing.

They told me a few days ago that there is a waiting list of more than 10 years for their properties in Gosport, so I prepared myself for the long wait.

Yesterday, my brochure for the property in Gosport I was looking at turned up and I noticed that it is possible to trnasfer to one of their properties if I had lived in one of them for a year.

I called them this morning and am now on four waiting lists in Eastbourne. The lovely lady I spoke to said that she wanted me to send in any housing support reports so that she can move me up their lists.

Eastbourne is not a really bad place to live but it's just not home.
