Gloomy and sprinkling throughout the day.

I have one client's weeding done and it took 15 hours.
Monday, I will be working on another client's garden and it should be less than 5 hours.

Earlier this week, I mowed the lawn just in time for 10 yards of mulch to be delivered.
I have been weeding and then mulching the gardens.
I have the 2 largest gardens to weed and then mulch and they are looking great.

The neighbors tom cat has been hunting down my Fletcher and there has been cat fights.
Went to talk with the neighbors and they took him down to another farm down the road. Well . . .
Saturday, in my garage was a cat fight. He found his way back here. I think that cat is jealous of how my cats are living.

Today, working on some new items to be listed to my websites.

I finally remember to take my camera when I took a trip on the other side of town.

There is an area that is marshy and ponds.
The trees are surrounded with these nests and birds. . .

These birds are Blue Herons and they are large.

They certainly are large birds, do they cause problems.

Yes sunshine, makes a change, theres quiet a wind as well today, but should mean washing will dry quickly.

They keep saying we are going to get heat wave this year but we have heard that before, & there will be hose pipe bands again.

    @Maplegin
The herons really aren't aggressive or "trouble makers".
They do like fish and I guess if you have a private pond and you stock it with fish - well, maybe you will loose your fish.
They are more elegant type birds.

The heron birds are 4-5 feet tall.
We also have sandhill cranes that are 5 feet and taller.

Thank goodness they are not regulars at bird feeders.

Used to live not far from Windsor - no-one could keep fish in a pond for more than a week - the Herons from Windsor Great park did regular patrols.

Those herons are beautiful! In Colorado, along the front range (N of Denver, at least) I've seen huge trees with probably 30 big nests and herons on them. It always strikes me as a bit odd to see them there, and even more so, the pelicans in the area. The pelicans look so prehistoric when they are flying overhead. Considering Colorado is practically the geographic center of the 48 contiguous US states, and is very landlocked, it's interesting to have the shore birds there. Herons were also fairly common in Washington state...the most NW state in the lower 48, and yes, they would grab people's ornamental Koi fish out of shallow ponds. The trick is to make the ponds quite deep, then the herons won't bother with it.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Interesting to hear about the large birds but as I have said before like to look at them but have a phobia of birds caused I think by the family having budgies & letting them out & they always went for my head, so always will watch from a far, it does mean I still feed the birds everyday in fact its the next job , mostly Sparrows & we have 2 robins as well.

Its good to feel the sunshine.

My mom was like that with horses.
She thought they were beautiful, but not up close and anything bigger than her.
When I would bring my horses home, I would get a couple of carrots for them.
My mom would stay on the porch and looked at them.

One time, I told her to give a carrot to the horse from the porch.
Little did she know that my horse walked up the steps to get a carrot.
Her eyes were really BIG when he did that.
