We've had hellacious winds and rains through the night and morning. AND ERMAHGERD! is it cold. My hands hurt so bad when I was letting then hens out, feeding them, and putting a tarp over a little extra shed for them to give them another shelter from the wind and rain. Tarp blew off shortly after I got back inside, despite my anchoring under the shed on 3 sides. brrrrrrrrr.......whoosh!
    Ta-Ta for now!

YourMajesty, Ma'am, perhaps arm warmers, fingerless mitts are in order? In the absence of suchwhich, a pair of old socks with toes cut out, to protect your delicate extremities, would help when tending your royal chicks?

Gongs to you, Cheaver, for your sense and sensibility. Bong on the head to me for not putting something like that on. I don't like to wear gloves or mittens doing that, as I'm dealing with water, chicken food, freshly laid eggs (which, by the by, are gorgeous!), and the occasional hand in the chicky do-do if I slip. I do have some wrist warmers....my only fleece pair are in the laundry. I bought some from a lady who sold on here, but now she's just on the bay. I don't have a sewing machine, or would make a larger selection. The arm warmers (no hands) are most practical. The wrist warmers/fingerless glove type things are good if you only deal with dry things.

I think I will just invent sturdy fur-lined marigolds!!

If I may suggest, Ma'am, a pair of leg warmers like mine would perhaps be an improvement on the marigolds?

A regal purple colour might also perhaps be a more appropriate colour for you - or perhaps more of a tan colour to blend with your corgis and hens?

Ohhhh. Nice! That would be Stylin'!!!!

Leg warmers used to be quite the rage when my kids were young teens. They go in and out of style, but are always practical and warm. My mom had some that she wore when she was a kid and went ice skating or sledding.

Ooooo, I remember leg warmers from the Jane Fonda fitness craze in the early 1980s! I had about 5 prs with matching leotards I was a lot trimmer then as well with 2 young children to chase after......

Kettle's refilled and there's tea, coffee, drinking chocolate or herb/fruit teas this morning + muesli, toast, eggs & bacon but we've eaten all the potato bread - sorry.

Heavy rain again overnight so another day housebound but I still have some tidying up/re-arranging to do in my little 'office'.

Mornin' troops and a happy early Christmas ! Right I have a kitchen full of condensation to look forward to this morning which might be helped with a few Bailey's on the way, so wish me luck !

Gawd, that photo of Jane brought back a few memories Private Mcc2. I also had a few matching leotards and leg warmers. My favourite was a maroon ensemble worn with black footless tights, and not only that but I used to have a pair of bright pink leg warmers that I wore with denim jeans which I thought was very fetching !!!

Now let's hope they are all too busy thinking about leg warmers to notice that I am missing another listing !

Cold is rrrrrright! brrr. Just gave the chickies an extra snack before they tuck in for the night. Brrrrrr. For the moment no rain, but a big black cloud overhead and more cooming from the W and N. Wanted to mail my Xmas cards to my girls today, but the local pickup box doesn't get collected on Sun. sigh. Too far to drive to town for that, so it will wait. I've been So pokey and unmotivated that the cards will be late. Can't get in gear, and it doesn't help that Phillpot hates Christmas, so any prep or decor is down to me,, so, as it's just us here, it will be like the old time cowboy singer/actor...............Slim Pickins.

Kettle's on and fresh pot of tea made.

Have developed an irritating little cough - will have to dig out the lemon juice and ginger to try and get rid of it.

Not much happening today - so far - so maybe himself will get my long-handled moisturising sponge made which I've been waiting 4 weeks for already !

My mug of tea has arrived:
