Just catching up after a very busy 4 weeks which included a trip to Oxford Street ( No I didn't buy a thing), wish seats were provided in shops to sit down on though like they did years ago, had a trip to the Harrogate Knitting and stitching show (yes I did buy some lovely things) just as well we did not have much time and energy to get round it all, although some of our group managed it.
Annie hope your feeling much better. Buttons are your fingers feeling better is it arthritus or Raynauds, Cornish you sound as if you have been very busy also. Maplegin you are very lucky to have a builder come around so quickly, I have been waiting for someone to come and do some pointing up since September, they rang tosay they would be around last Tuesday and Wednesday but did not show, hope we don't have to much rain and wind or else I will need my wellies in my enclosed passageway.
Must start thinking about writing my Christmas cards now and doing some shopping, not something I look forward to. Stayed away from Lincoln and the Lincoln Christmas Market over the last 4 days due to traffic and as the road is closed to traffic near the cemetary ended up asking my sister to lay my flowers for my mum's memorium on Saturday, first time I have missed in 20 years but trying to get anywhere near to park would have been pointless, last year my back and legs complained for days after I walked from my sisters home, fed up with these restrictions being placed on me
Keep warm everyone
no it isnt arthritis or raynauds Babushska, it was having to parachute onto my bed and hang on for grim death all night after fighting putting a 4" topper on it that is like a slab of concrete, I thought they were comfy, i was wrong, I thought it would be grate for my back, my back thought differently and sent out attack signals to all extremities
Morning all, a late kettle is on. It does seem to be the time of aches and pains for us all, let alone being merry and bright!
I'm merry and bright .... especially after discovering a small bottle of liquid refreshment hidden in a corner.... by jove, jolly tasty it was too!
Thanks for putting the kettle on Red, I fancy a nice hot cup of tea now.
Buttons, JR loves the acupuncture pen. He says his swollen ankle doesn't hurt half as much now, and he isn't limping so much, so thanks for the recommendation.
I think I may need to use the pen to ease my aching fingers.... spud bashing isn't really my scene (bet sarge finds out that I have let my defences down somewhat, not really my fault though, so much to do)
Morning - think i could do with some of your secret stash Trish! The Old Sailor is being particularly bothersome at the moment with phone calls every 5 mins to say that something is wrong/can we do this/ where's the carer or District Nurse.... Anyway the carer is there at the moment sorting his breakfast - peace. Will go over afterwards once himself is back from running errands as awaiting a largish delivery and need to be here.
Apart from that, not much else on the 'Must Get Done' list - it's all the other stuff that needs doing - sometime - that keeps being put off.
Getting brainache now so time for another mug of tea and a gingernut.
Oh thats good Trish, i am please it was useful to JR, and yes keep it handy in case of spud peelers and on that front i am keeping my gob shut and my head down and sitting quietly in a corner hoping i wont be noticed
Crikey buttons, I think we had better leg it to the mess before she enters the barracks.
Annie, I'll save you a wee dram, you sure sound as if you need it right now.
