New cooker being delivered this morning sometime after 10am - so better get a move on.

Tea is made, there's cornflakes and muesli + bread for toasting and oranges for juicing. Oh, and I think there is some Greek yogurt left in the the fridge.

Playing with my listing templates yesterday and having to re-learn html again, but achieved what I was after.

Sorry Sarge, but losted 2 little ones overnight..........

And we're having mash tonight with sausages

our new washing machine is being delivered "late afternoon". I'm waiting on the decorators coming to do the bathroom. As its a wet room there is only one wall to do, the others have wetboard.
Away for my toast and tea now before they arrive.

We both slept late today. So by the time we had our meds and were allowed to eat it was after 8 am. Must say that I am about to crawl back to bed. Maybe I have some catching up to do.

You take it very easy Private Meebo you are entitled to !

Grrrr I was going to shout at Private Mcc2 ( yes, I saw you slip that in between your sausage and mash !
) but a newbie took advantage of my slow movement last night getting out of the air raid shelter and planted a bomb in disguise. Tut my shops have only been reopened just over a day !

I found a really interesting piece of family history on Instagram last night that I didn't know about. Sister Wendy the art historian nun that died a couple of days ago was a close friend of my Uncle and Aunt on my mother's side ! My cousin's daughter posted this, it's a shame the Old Soldier, who was an artist, isn't alive he would have been amused by the story.

I’m taking a moment to reflect following news of the passing of Sister Wendy Beckett today. She was the first ‘celebrity’ I knew. Sister Wendy lived in a caravan in Quidenham in Norfolk, in the grounds of a monastery, where my late grandparents had a house on the edge of the estate. Sister Wendy became a great friend of my Grannie regularly popping round for tea and conversation, she seemed to enjoy the change of scene. I remember so vividly being scooped onto her lap during visits, the smell of pressed starch from her habit and veil, the warmth of her voice, her interest in us, her cheekiness and the mischievous glint in her eye. She seemed so worldly and wise, yet lived such a closeted daily life.
When Sister Wendy became an unlikely TV star - a globe trotting art historian on the BBC - fame didn’t change her. She sent grannie postcards from her travels all around the world and when at home, she continued to live in her trailer on the estate. It was a source of amusement to our family when Wendy, a committed nun, would regularly discuss nudity and even sex in her art programmes. Yet her observations were always insightful and relatable.
Beckett had achieved a first-class degree in English Literature at Oxford University in the 1950s, she went on to publish several books on art history.
She was a truly unique person and a loyal friend to my late grannie; the remarkable woman living at the end of the garden. RIP

    I loved Nigel Slater's autobiography

"It is impossible not to love someone who makes toast for you."

I, too, always enjoyed Sister Wendy's insights. What a lovely person. The world could use more calm, caring souls like her.
