Lots of harvesting went on every fall. Canning and pickling and so on. She read the newspaper every day and followed the political news on TV. At the age of 88 she was still mowing grass and shovelling snow. We're talking about Alberta, Canada kind of snow. She still washed with a wringer washer and hung all the clothes out on the line. She walked a lot. Long distances. She was not a fast walker but she had stamina.
At 88 her age caught up with her. Osteoporosis and heart problems.
But, the house had it's dust bunnies. There was stuff around, because she was always busy creating something. Something good and memorable.
There are better things to do in life than to chase every bit of dust in the corners.
