good morning! We will have to stay at home and wait for an estate agent to value the house. No, we are not moving- this is still for probate. anyway, tea and coffee are ready. There is some wholemeal bread + various cereals if you feel hungry. Must check if i am still winning any of the YDC auctions. I also have a pile of books I need to list. so fingers crossed I will get it all done

Morning - rather nippy this morning and no sunshine like yesterday

Meeting up with an old friend later - although in touch via Facebook, we haven't seen each other for nearly 15 years!

Losted a small one to friendly fire yesterday so now looking for a replacement........

Bur first another mug of tea.

    Morning all,
Have been & done the relists. Have to confess that I have lost 2 overnight & somer lost 2 yesterday but will be replaced by us both from the end of the day.
It might not be slippery out there today but its a very bitter cold wind.

I have a lady who has bid on a lot of items and is now asking me to end the listings early, i have told her the only way was for her to have bid on the BINS instead of the bids, and that there is no way to end them to the highest bidder now, am i correct or is there a way, i am certainly not going to blackball and remove the listings and do the lads out of the fees and get myself in trouble as well. she doesn't really want to wait till the other ones end but doesn't want to lose out on combined shipping. I did explain that ebid does not work like ebay and the only way to end a listing was to use the bin. but am now having doubts and thinking there may be a way that i don't know about.

Ello troops, another grey dreary day here. Oh for a bit of warmth and sun !

Talking of probate I had a letter from the tax office last Oct /Nov saying they wanted some money back from the Old Soldier's Estate. It was a sum they had paid to us after he died in April (so why did they give it to us in the first place ?!!!) and they said they would send another letter to tell us how it should be paid. Why send us another letter, why not just tell us there and then? More tax payers money being wasted !
I'm still waiting for this letter, the tax office seems to be in total chaos since they cancelled the national insurance direct debits.

Private Mcc2 and Lieutenant Maplegin you had both better go and find a potato peeler !

I am not aware that you can end a listing early. Might be worth asking the bosses if they can help out

I don't know that you can end a listing early that has bids on it. It wouldn't really be fair to anyone else who is watching it and who might be planning on bidding. The BIN takes it immediately off, as is obvious, but the bid would seem to make it fair game till the listing ends.....

I suppose it is her way of trying to save money by not pressing the bin button, the option was there for that very reason to buy it now, so I agree it isn't fair and also would not be fair on me if the option was available as i did put the bin price there for a reason, just wanted to check in case I was in the wrong and she thought i was just being awkward.

Agreed. I see it as a contract. She wouldn't be happy if she was watching and waiting to the last minute to bid, if someone else bid, then you closed early.

You bid, you take your chances. You BIN, you guarantee your results immediately.
