We went shopping for mattresses this morning (and got them), but also ended up visiting a wholesaler on the way and bought a lot of bargain food. The best must be a goose for £5! It will be cooked and eaten tomorrow.

Good morning! Have spent the last hour or so in the kitchen. I am defrosting the freezers (wish it was colder outside for this to stop the food from thawing) so I can freeze some of yesterdays purchases. Tea and coffee are also made. It's going to be a busy morning!

Well was a very sharp frost here but didn't stop the dog wanting to go out this morning the dogs seem to enjoy the weather
Next to do some more of the realists.

Still haven't got my hearing back - this is driving me bonkers as I can't clear the blockage.

Oh don't remind me Private Meebo, my freezers need defrosting too. Can't face doing it this week will wait until O/H goes away next week and then get all the niggly jobs done when I don't get any interruptions !

Got to try and get back to some sort of normality. Sheets need washing ready for Cadet Malcolm, fiancee and friend who are staying here on the 1st Jan before they go off in the early hours for their Skiing trip.

You had better go to the doc Private Mcc2 and see if your ear needs to be syringed it's all very well me shouting at you when you sell something but I'm beginning to get a sore throat !

Annie, it is best not to try clearing the blockage. Mine was totally blocked and my GP could see the water lodged there. He said to leave it and it would clear of its own accord in time.

    Frustrating, I know.

I make a pile of the contents and throw an old sleeping bag over the pile to reduce the defrosting. We have an upright freezer so the food is in drawers which stack which makes the job a bit easier.
