I have had chronic heart failure since the 80's....I think I already know how to manage it.

Hallo, everyone. Mil has been giving us reason for concern - sleeping all the time and refusing to eat and drink. But today she has perked up and is almost herself again. I met the ENT surgeon yesterday about the proposed removal of my Thyroid. He is ok to do the op, but wants me to have an MRI scan (next Tuesday) to get a better idea of how far behind the breastbone this thing is hiding. We talked about the possibility of a partial removal, but the reasoning is that as it has grown a fair bit in 3 months, it will continue to grow and in a few years I would need another op. So as it stands it will all go. So next week the scan and the following week another consultation and maybe a date.
Last night I was at the theatre to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Very enjoyable, just a bit on the warm side, especially as the place was packed.
Tomorrow I am out all day and Saturday/ Sunday are planned for BBQ's. after that things will hopefully return to normal here with regular early morning reporting in

Breast bone I thought they were in your neck oh heck fingers and everything crossed for a good MRI result but if it's going to grow again get rid of all of it you don't want two ops. XX

Yes. the thyroid is in your neck, but it has got bigger - not much space in the neck. And don't be put off by what is happening to me. Go and see your endocrinologist

Looking on the bright side Private Meebo, afterwards, when they have got your medication levels right you will probably feel you have a lot more energy so that is something to look forward to. There will be no stopping her troops - the listings will be going on so fast !!!

Well, it is not normal and up till now there appears to be no reason- all tests have come back normal.

I am off to the canteen now for a nice glass of iced tea, but will make coffee and fill the kettle.
