No he is still alive and the cupboard from the hob and oven housing are in the middle of the kitchen,.
No smoking house now Pam so thats okay but I don't think he is gas orientated at least he can see electric, ( well sort of)

Sid if you are about we took the hob out of the base unit and there is a white sheet layer of stuff underneath where it was, It does not look like asbestos but rather porcelaine, like the little white electric connectors you used to get way back, it sounds like tin when you tap it but it's not tin, do you think it would be some form of fiberglass, I should know that really coming from St Helens.

Clive has just gone off in an ambulance. We did manage to get a doctor to come(quite a rigmarole) and see him, who was concerned about his low blood pressure and also his stiff and painful neck. He arranged for the ambulance and after more questions and tests they have just gone. I shall now crawl into bed and hope to get a little sleep. 5 am will be here far too soon

Oh, meebo, I do hope Clive will be OK. Have you had any news yet?

Last day for himself on light duties so he's back to normal shifts/timetable next week.

Good morning! I have been trying to catch up on sleep, but without success. Clive phoned me to say he had lots of tests done and was just off to have a lumber puncture done to confirm what we (and the medics) have suspected: Meningitis. I talked about being home on Sunday, but I am far more realistic than to believe that. We will see. I will now keep myself busy while Mil is sleeping and maybe I can have a sleep after lunch

Oh Private Meebo, I hope you give whoever you spoke to at your doctor's yesterday a right bo**ocking !
Is there a friend or family member that can come in and give you a hand with MIL while all this is going on ? Is your daughter around ? I hope they have given you some antibiotics as a precaution if they suspect meningitis. I will be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed.

I can't see the email that made you laugh it is just a little box.

Good morning. It's amazing what a good night's sleep can do. Mind you I could have managed a bit longer. Canteen duty is done and I am just waiting for the carer. Clive's diagnosis has not yet been confirmed, but it will be today. I am also planning to go to the hospital with a few bits and pieces we didn't think about on Thursday. At least I know how the buses run. Otherwise there is nothing to report
