Mike has just said we now need a new cooker as we can't get parts for this one, so off to look at AO for one.
That is good news, isn't it?

Buttons, I'm wondering if there is more to your AVG issue than previously thought:

Eek, that sounds nasty Private Cheaver. Maybe Private Buttons should rely on the eBid army defenses !

I ran that darn web tuneup for the last two days and took it out at lunch time but there is one bit that would not remove, I am beginning to think it's norton time to get this crap out.
    Thanks Cheaver

If it does not go I will wipe the computer, I have to put all my stuff on my ex drive soon anyway to transfer it to the new computer.
I didn't update the bios BTW I looked and thought get you things out of it first
I love this computer with it's thumping great monitor, don't like the flat screen things they hurt my eyes and i don't think they are as good, maybe I should have bought a smaller on.

Buttons ~ 2 great bits of free kit I used back in my Windows days:

1 was ccleaner ~ wow, that was brilliant. Great for clearing the Registry & also for removing stuff. (Don't forget to clear most of your Restore Points as well 'cos they can drag your 'puter down.)

2nd was the anti-virus scan I used when anyone had an issue: another "best-thing-since-sliced-bread" item:

Hope you get sorted soon, Buttons.

Oh dear! It seems you inadvertently wandered into the eBid army mess. Be prepared ... Sarge will probably be along soon to indoctrinate you and make you buy the obligatory 1st round. Good Luck.

    P.S. she drinks gin
