Popped out up to Monifieth - our Post Office is in the Spar shop and will be closed for the next few weeks or so for refurbishment - this includes changing the 3 positions to 2 - isn't progress wonderful? They must be planning to cut the PO staff's hours again. Seemingly it will be open from 6am to 10pm, run by shop staff outwith normal PO hours - hmm I think not. Monifieth's turn next in February - he is an independent PO, not in any shop, wonder how he will manage with the new hours?

So shopped at the butcher, Tesco for bread and milk and mandarins then home again. Cold windy but dry - and the heavens opened once I was home, glad I missed that. Sun shining again but wind stronger than ever.

My toy came this morning My wool twister, could see straight away that the drive belt was bust, it also looks like the cone is missing, turned it over and saw the name knitmaster, if that had been in the add i would not have wasted all my Christmas money on it

Sorry Sarge I had to take Pam shopping, (so it's not my fault), and when we came back home another 11 are digging tunnels under the wire.

Had to pop out again to the Post Office - two just disappeared

... I think it was Somers's fault ... he is letting them all in!!!

I have requested a return as it was not advertised as not working, i opened the box and before i took it out of the bag i could see the broken belt, Mike had a look at it and him being a sewing machine mechanic said he can feel that the gears as going to go as well. Will wait and see what happens.

I am home from my day out and am ready to drop. Did some shopping on Oxford Street before I met up with daughter to go to the hotel where the spa is located. Sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi were lovely, just the pool was tiny - 2 strokes and we reached the end. Then I discovered some buttons and pressed them. Suddenly there was a current and daughter was swimming on the spot. So we got our exercise after all. Now I know how the ducks feel paddling against the flow in a strong wind! And I am aching all over. Next job before retiring is to write a Thank You card to to the lovely person who donated the voucher. I almost forgot: after all these wet experiences we had afternoon tea preceded by a glass of champagne. And we cleared the sandwiches and cakes I will say good bye, just in case I won't have time in the morning. And look out for Tante Grete!
