Buttons - it's the acid. Oranges are usually OK, but this mandarin was particularly sharp.

Same as you shouldn't touch tomatoes and plums if you have arthritis.

That's interesting Private Mcc2. I knew about grapefruit but I didn't know about other fruits affecting you. I shall have to be careful what I send you out to pick, can't have fruit getting in the way of listing, mind you plenty of grapes for my wine is O.K. !

For arthritis, I understand that if often helps to avoid any of the foods in the nightshade family......tomatoes, potatoes,eggplant... etc. Hadn't heard about plums. Also, a big change in your diet sometimes will temporarily help such things.......good article here.

Thats cos they hope you will either be better or dead before they have to give you an appointment

Eek what a stressful afternoon. Got in the tank to take my YDC stuff to the P.O. switched it on and it went clunk and wouldn't start. Got O/H to have a look and he couldn't start it either. It sounded like the starter motor had gone.

Then had to borrow O/H's car (which I had never driven before) to get to the post office so I crawled all the way there and back terrified I might crash it !

As it's Friday I thought there is no point in calling out the RAC as my garage is closed at the weekend so I just phoned the garage to warn them it might be appearing on their doorstep on Monday. Went back up to the car to lock it and tried it once more and the blerdy thing decides to start !

I'll see how it is on Monday, I might take it for a check anyway just in case.
