Thread: Inventory Suggestions!

  1. #1

    Question Inventory Suggestions!

    Hi everyone!

Now that I've moved in and listed all of my current inventory, and are awaiting the arrival of some new merchandise, I was wondering (while searching through current listings)...

    1. Is there still a market/niche for American Retro, Vintage and Folk Art style primitives (reproductions), or is this market unsaturated because there is no real interest? What about handmade/custom items? Personalized, DIY kits, etc.?

    2. What might I be able to add to my inventory that UK and international buyers find of interest...in the home and garden and decor categories?

I am not expecting anyone to divulge their trade secrets, I'm just trying to view my store and inventory from a UK buyer perspective, and make it more interesting!

    THANKS!!!

    Lori

    Hi Lori

I'm afraid i can't be much help, but where I live we have a shop called the 'New England Country Store' , that sells American country stuff - from candles to ornaments, cards and cushions, giftware, and furniture etc. It is very popular, especially at Christmas, when they have some gorgeous Christmas decorations!

see http://www.oldeglory.co.uk/about.html to give you an idea of what they sell.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! That is exactly the kind of information I was looking for! I know that here in the US, vintage reproductions are fairly popular, I just wanted to know (since this site is currently) more viewed by the UK buyers, if the interest was just as high. Since this site isn't as over saturated as that "other one" is with Americana type things, I thought maybe I could carve a little "niche" for myself!
