Welcome to the eBid June 2016 Newsletter

Hi everyone. Well, what a month June has turned out to be. The UK Referendum took place last Thursday and the result was one that not many people expected. It looks like times will be a-changing for Brits in the coming years, for better or for worse only time will tell. All of us at eBid have already switched back to work mode after all the excitement and are planning some great new additions to the site and the mobile app in the very near future.

June has seen us reach the 4m listing mark for the first time since we had a spring clean a while ago. So a huge thanks to everyone who visited eBid during June. Gross listing value has hit the $5b mark also even when taking into consideration the change in exchange rates over the past few days.

Our main aim at eBid is to always improve the variety, quality and value of the items for sale in our marketplace. All our sellers can help make eBid a better and brighter place to shop by ensuring your listings are of the highest quality with great photos always being the perfect start. Just as important are in-depth descriptions, clear and all-encompassing, with all the possible facts a buyer may want to know about your product. There is always the chance a buyer will pass on your item and buy someone else's if they feel there are unanswered questions within your descriptions. OK, there is always the Q&A facility they can use, but why take the risk that they might not ask you the question?

With Google placing more and more emphasis on page quality for its ranking algorithms it is also important to take your time with your listings descriptions to ensure good page ranking within search engine search results. A few extra seconds adding a few extra important words of information on your descriptions can go a long way.

Another thing that popped us this month was a few sellers answering Q&A questions by replying directly to the email notification they received that notified them that a question had been asked. Please make sure any email sent from eBid that is headed "*DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL*" is not replied to via email. Your reply won't be received by the other party and could result in a non-sale. For Q&A notification emails you just need to click the link within the email and add your reply on the next page. An even simpler method is to download our Android or iOS mobile app and you will receive Q&A notifications on your mobile and can reply there immediately also.

After many requests we've just changed how your eBid Store logos are shown on smaller screens. Before now we would resize and place your logos within a small circle. The changes made, just a few days ago, now show your logo in its original ratios with an increase in size also. Thanks for everyone's input on this matter and don't forget we LOVE to hear what you have to say, be it positive or negative. Without your input eBid would not have many of the great features it has today.

Last thing for this month, we'll be upping the number of free photos allowed (currently 5) on eBid listings at our next update. What is a good number for everyone? We were thinking 10. Will that be enough/too many? Let us know what you think on the eBid Forums.

US Soccer Federation uses eBid to Auction Michael Bradley's "Rainbow" Captain's Armband & Signed, Game-Worn Jersey


Michael Bradley, the U.S. Men’s soccer captain, donated the unique rainbow captain’s armband and his game jersey worn during the USA’s 2-1 win against Ecuador. The eBid auction was held from June 20-24 and the jersey and armband went for a whopping $5655.55, one of the largest charity auctions we've ever had on eBid.

Proceeds from the online auction will benefit the OneOrlando Fund and Equality Florida, two organizations providing financial resources to victims and families impacted by the Pulse nightclub mass shooting earlier this month. Thanks to everyone who took part. If you have any charity auctions you wish to run then give eBid a go.
