  • Less Pixel Count Counts!

eBid Bargains to be Had With Less Pixel Count

If you love taking photos then you'll know just how fast moving the cameras market is. New cameras are out all of the time with new features and a bigger pixel count.

But one of the most vibrant markets around at the minute is the “last years” camera market. If you love your photo's then this is the market you need to sink your teeth into. Even though you might have to do a little bit of digging, you can certainly find the right camera for you at a bargain basement price at eBid!

Why Are Last Years Cameras Cheaper

Camera manufacturers are always putting in fancy (but useless) new features and pushing up the megapixel count. This means that every single year you will find new cameras coming out at eye watering prices. It's not surprising to find a new top of the range camera with a price well into the thousands.

But if you know what you want from your camera, you can dig about in our photography categories and find something similar for a fraction of the price. You'll be surprised just how much cheaper a camera from last year – which is hardly out of date - actually is.

The main difference between this years camera and last years camera is often just the pixel count. But should the pixel count really get in the way of an awesome bargain?

Why You Don't Need a Bigger Pixel Count

Camera manufacturers (and even today's phone manufacturers) like you to think that the most important part of a camera is the pixel count. They want you to think those extra few megapixels are worth an extra few hundred pounds all on their own.

    But are they really?

Well, it depends what you want to use your camera for. If you want a camera to take photo's which will be printed out on a canvass the size of your living room wall then yes, you need a high pixel count – along with a very good lens!

But if you print out photos at regular sizes or just upload them to Facebook, you might not need a high pixel count at all. On a standard 5 x 7 photograph you probably won't notice much of a difference at all between last years camera and this years camera. Even though this years has a much higher pixel count.

Realistically, last years camera will be more than enough for most levels of photography. The extra few megapixels will make very little difference to the quality of your photos and certainly not enough to warrant the extra expense.

    Look at Last Years Cameras

So if you want a great camera and you don't want to break the bank, then it's time to get digging at eBid. Find out what you want from your camera and start looking – you'll be amazed at the bargains you unearth in the eBid Photography & Optical Category sections.
